San Miniato ..a typical medieval town with lots of Talents
San Miniato is an ancient and important city that had Etruscan and then Roman settlements based along "
Via Francigena". From its dominant position, the German Emperors had been exercising power and control over the whole of Tuscany... here took residence Federico Barbarossa. San Miniato is
very rich in history: walking along the main street, you can see important buildings and you can admire some tower-houses (the one of Matilda is now known as the bell tower), the numerous churches as St.Jacopo, St.Francesco and the Cathedral with an unforgettable view over the valley of the Arno. Strategically located in the Tuscan countryside, with
stunning panoramas and
vast wineyards, on hilltop along the Arno River between Florence and Pisa, San Miniato is a perfect place to relax and spend your time during your stay in Tuscany...also very famous for white truffle
Tuber Magnatum Pico - the food of kings!
San Miniato adheres to the "Slow Cities": it is a set of common shared experience of Slow Food. Contrary to the frenzy of the ´fast life´, they propose a model city where you can
taste the food slowly and
